  • Last Xanga Post (No Longer)

    Seeing the re-launch progress, I know that it’s time to say goodbye to Xanga:

    Thank you Xanga, bringing me a suitable platform to post my blog.

    Thank you Xanga’s founder, who insist on this wonderful idea for so many years.

    Thank you my friend who introduced me this site, your suggestion is WONDERFUL.

    Thank you all my readers, and subscribers, for reading my postsssss though you know I still need TIMESSS to improve my writing and sharing skills.

    Thank you Jesus, you know this is the longest (e-) book that I have written to you.

    Yea, it’s time to say goodbye.  If you know me, I think we will share in other media.

    I hope that someday I will be a organised writer, so that I may leave some intangible legacy to the generations to come.  If this comes true, part of it must be the habit of writing HERE.

    See you!

    1. Xanga

  • Extract of passage

    Introduction to JOB

    … It is also important to note what job does not do, lest we expect something from him that he does not intend.  Job does not curse God as his wife suggests he should do, getting rid of the problem by getting rid of God.  But neither does Job explain suffering.  He does not instruct us in how to live so that we can avoid suffering.  Suffering is a mystery, and Job comes to respect the mystery.

    In the course of facing, questioning, and respecting suffering, Job finds himself in an even larger mystery – the mystery of God.  Perhaps the greatest mystery in suffering is how it can bring a person into the presence of God in a state of worship, full of wonder, love, and praise.  Suffering does not inevitably do that, but it does it far more often than we would expect.  It certainly did that for Job. Even in his answer to his wife he speaks the language of an uncharted irony, a dark and difficult kind of truth: “We take the good days from God – why not also the bad days?”

    Let’s make it simple.

  • Nehemiah 9

    5+

    Blessed be your glorious name, exalted above all blessing and praise!

    You’re the one, God, you alone;

    You made the heavens, and heavens of heavens, and all angels;

    The earth and everything on it, the seas and everything in them;

    You keep them all alive;

    haven’s angels worship you!

    You’re the one, God, the God who chose Abram And brought him from Ur of the Chaldees and changed his name to Abraham.

    You found his heart to be steady and true to you and signed a covenant with him, A covenant to give him the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, and the Amorites, The Perizzites, Jebusites, and Girgashites, – to give it to his descendants.

    And you kept your word because you are righteous.

    You saw the anguish of our parents in Egypt.

    You heard their cries at the Red Sea;

    You amazed Pharaoh, his servants, and the people of his land with wonders and miracle-signs.

    You knew their bullying arrogance against your people;

    you made a name for yourself that lasts to this day.

    You split the sea before them;

    they crossed through and never got their feet wet;

    You pitched their pursuers into the deep;

    they sank like a rock in the storm-tossed sea.

    By day you led them with a Pillar of Cloud, and by night with a Pillar of Fire to show them the way they were to travel.

    You came down onto Mount Sinai, you spoke to them out of heaven;

    You gave them instructions on how to live well, true teaching, sound rules and commands;

    You introduced them to your Holy Sabbath;

    Through your servant Moses you decreed commands, rules, and instruction.

    You gave bread from heaven for their hunger, you sent water from the rock for their thirst.

    You told them to enter and take the land, which you promised to give them.

    有時候能夠從神既角度思想並不是必然的,而這個不是必然的因素卻可以決定我/我們的人生。

    在我們和很多我們不喜歡的,或者是心中滿有惡念的人相處時,我們心中多會充滿著嬲怒和掙扎。

    我彷彿想起了主耶穌的生命:

    可能我們喜歡聽耶穌行神蹟,喜歡聽耶穌趕鬼的故事;

    但主耶穌可能付出了更多的時間去和不明白祂,甚至是對祂懷著惡意的人相處,關愛他們。

    為何我們卻不喜歡認同主在這方面的榜樣和付出呢?

    提摩太後書一章(七節)

    為此我提醒你,使你將 神藉我按手所給你的恩賜,再如火挑旺起來。

    因為 神賜給我們,不是膽怯的心,乃是剛強、仁愛、謹守的心。

    For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;

    but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

    你不要以給我們的主作見證為恥,也不要以我這為主被囚的為恥,總要按 神的能力,與我為福音同受苦難, 神救了我們,以聖召召我們,不是按我們的行為,乃是按他的旨意,和恩典,這恩典是萬古之先,在基督耶穌裡賜給我們的,但如今藉著我們救主基督耶穌的顯現,才表明出來了。

    他已經把死廢去,藉著福音,將不能壞的生命彰顯出來。

  • Psalm 119

    Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.

    Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

    They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.

    Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.

    O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!

    Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.

    I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.

    I will keep thy statute: O forsake me not utterly.

    Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

    With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me now wander from thy commandments.

    Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

    Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes.

    With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.

    I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.

    I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.

    I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

    Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word.

    I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.

    My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments at all times.

    Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments.

    Remove from me reproach and contempt;

    for I have kept thy testimonies.

    Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.

    Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.

    My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.

    I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes.

    Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.

    My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.

    Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously.

    I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O Lord, put me not to shame.

    I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.

    Teach me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes;

    and I shall keep it unto the end.

    Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law;

    yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.

    Make me to go in the path of thy commandments;

    for therein do I delight.

    Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.

    Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity;

    and quicken thou me in thy way.

    Stablish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear.

    Turn away my reproach which I fear: for thy judgments are good.

    Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness.
